ItemWhoNotes
Gantt Chart OverviewAll
  • Discussed potential changes to Aerobody timelines
    • Concerns about lead times from Formashape on getting the plug/molds back
    • Testing time doesn't require a mounted aerobody, so testing can begin before all aero panels are ready
AerobodyFormer user (Deleted)
  • Switched to AutoDesk SpeedForm for CAD, much more organic than Rhino
  • Dzus fasteners for removable panels (trunks, fairings)
  • How are we going to mount "fixed" panels to each other? (Companies make custom adhesive screws)
  • What layup process/panelization method/material do we want to use?
  • No longer doing "formal" CFD, as it requires tons of manpower and time. Preliminary solutions can be done outside of ANSYS CFD to help iterate
  • Ventilation to be considered, but not a critical thing until a new surface model is on the way
ChassisMatt Suski, Devon Copeland
  • Devon has implemented a locking gas spring hinge that allows the rear array to pivot upwards, providing access to electrical components from the rear
  • Gas spring will be purchased to match the rear panel
  • Battery box has an aluminum "slot" fixture in the rear of the car, with latched doors that hold the boxes in place
  • Leaning towards adding an additional vertical member for door mounting points to make doors smaller
  • Established a FEA standard for chassis simulations to streamline the process (Beam elements vs Solid Body mesh, loading conditions)
  • Going forwards, all mounting features should be in ASSEM-Chassis for FEA purposes
SuspensionAdam Marchand
  • Lots of work to be done, but Adam was out sick last week so not much was done
  • Suspension is in a good spot, just alot of fine tuning to be done at this point
  • Bump stop material to be determined
  • New team member from Mech looking to get heavily involved in suspension work
Brakes & SteeringLauren Elizabeth Hankins (Deactivated), Devon Copeland
Battery BoxDevon Copeland
  • New first year member interested in doing battery box internals
  • Devon Copelandwill be putting together some battery box internal documentation to provide guidance on the design
  • Handles need to be considered for removal
