Chassis | Matt Suski | - Chassis-aerobody interface and interferences in the model have been cleaned up
- A-Column hoops have been made continuous to help with aero conformity
- "Dashboard" hoop has been raised to be closer to the aerobody and help the construction of the dashboard
- Top cell "x" causing issues with headroom and aero - removed and replaced with single crossing members
- Matt Suski will recheck impact sims to verify structural integrity is not adversely affected
- Adding cross member for dashboard and steering column Heim joint mounting
|
Aerobody | Matt Suski | - Chassis-aerobody mounting will be done with bent tabs adhered to the aerobody panels and matching welded tabs on the chassis
- These will be connected using threaded rod and lock nuts and frees up aerobody-chassis dependence
- Tabs to be designed into the chassis, with field-fitted matching tabs added to the aerobody panels post
|
Steering | Adam Marchand | - The rack and pinion is interfering with the chassis members, which are difficult to reposition
- Potentially rotating the rack and pinion such that the shaft points towards the sky to clear the chassis and contain the rotating steering components in the front suspension cell
- Steering column does not exit the front cell of the chassis between the driver's legs
- New steering architecture will be added to CAD with a linkage to position the steering column correctly
