Chassis | Matt Suski | - Geometric changes to the chassis (manufacturability, welding, etc.)
- New simulations are passable and simulations are properly constrained
- Need to rerun simulations accounting for the overall mass of the vehicle
- Chassis can (theoretically) be optimized to 55-60kg
- 30/60 degree impacts tend to full rollover (as anticipated)
- Going forward, need to simulate dynamic conditions (driving loads from suspension, steering, etc.)
- Targeting safety factor of 2

Welding Jig | Adam Marchand | - Parts going into CAD
- Concerned about timeline having completed jig in mid-august, as many members are finished finals/not in Waterloo, etc.
- Matt Suski may be able to come down and help put stuff together at the end of August
- Theoretically, the jig will be simple to assemble as the construction is mainly lasercut wood and 80/20 extursions
- Shalin Patel is in contact with Anthony Courville, the UWFSAE chassis lead who designed and built their jig for guidance and pointers

Aerobody | Former user (Deleted) | - Aero team has pivoted to a new workflow, using SW in parallel with Speedform to get panels out
- Issues with complex curvature imported into SW and shelling out
- This problem isn't critical as Form-a-Shape might be able to work around this, but need to follow up with them
- Going forward, will be finalizing Speedform design and cleaning up panels in Solidworks
- Rough CFD is promising from Autodesk Flow
|
Steering | Adam Marchand | - New rack orientation to accommodate dual-u joint linkage, as well as the necessary jog of the steering column to sit in front of the driver
- Need to confirm location of the steering column, adjustability assembly and supports for the steering shaft
