ItemWhoNotes
ChassisMatt Suski, Adam Marchand
  • Optimizations have pushed chassis weight below 70kg (68.8kg), still aiming for 60kg
    • Still passing impact simulations very well, so plenty of wiggle room
  • Need to revisit rear hinges and how they interface with the aerobody due to geometry changes
  • Erratic roofline needs to be verified w.r.t. aerobody mounting locations
  • Torsional stiffness test shows good results as well
  • Chassis jig design coming along
    • Hoop jig is single-solution (i.e. all main hoops can be done on one jig)
  • Adjustability might be overkill, look into designing a jig with pre-set sizes for all of our hoops to clear things up for the welders and reduce weld costs
  • Want to mount the jig to a moveable surface (i.e. table)
AeroFormer user (Deleted)
  • Complete solidworks model of the panelized aerobody (rev 1)
  • Workflow has now been verified so things should run much more fluidly
  • Need to properly define mounting solution and locations
  • Speedform to be finalized tomorrow, detailing to follow (overlaps, waterproofing, etc.)
Steering, BrakesAdam Marchand
  • Parking brake selected (cable activated)
  • Issues with u-joint angles from shaft to steering column - need to locate a proper u-joint or look into double
  • Selected a shorter steering column
  • Selected a steering wheel
  • CAD 90% completed
Solidworks UpgradesAdam Marchand
  • Will be rolling out to 2016-2017 or 2017-2018 come end of July
  • Adam Marchand to determine the version dependant on the SDC's upgrades
  • Will sort out logistics of upgrades closer to the date
