Part Number | Part Name | Qty |
---|---|---|
1 | 1”x1”x2” 6061-Aluminum | 1 |
2 | MSXIV-STR004-Rack extension/MSXIV-STR003-Centerlink | 1 |
3 | Unthreaded spacers for tube 3/4" (NCLC8-14-25) | 2 |
Machining Instructions
Slide fits for both the spacer and tube with a tolerance of +/- 0.5mm.
The hole should intersect the tube profile as perpendicularly as possible (datum A and perpendicularity control frame) .
Usage Instructions
Place #2 onto the jig in the larger concave.
Slide #3 into the jig and rack extension (#2).
Place clamp around the highlighted surface in picture below which shows a crudely drawn clamp, this is to ensure the spacer sits approximately center through the tube (The clamp must clamp onto the spacer AND jig). Then give the assembly to the welder to weld one half of the assembly.
At welder’s discretion, the jig can continue to be used for the other half for welding which will require the assembly to be flipped and clamped again. Or if the assembly is secure they can just weld the other half.
Done , return to the Rack Extension Assembly guide.
The process is the same for the centerlink, except the jig has a rectangular profile to fit the rectangular tube.
