FEA Simulation for ASTM D3039

ASTM D3039_Standard Test Methods for Tensile Properties

Intro

This page will show the results of a tensile test on a 15 mm x 250 mm x 1.002 mm layup of carbon fibre. This test is meant to calculate various tensile properties. We will compare these results with in-person testing to see if they conform to our standards.

Stackup

The test specimen used in this test was 6 layers of 0-degree 0.167mm thick UD Carbon Fibre.

Loading Condition

This simulation used a 2000 N upwards force on the top face. There is also a fixed support on the bottom face of the test specimen.
