Steering Interface Troubleshooting
After several attempts to get the “already validated” steering interface board working, I decided to make this troubleshooting page.
The first thing that needs to get working are the buttons. All but the horn go to the CB after going through a rc filter and Schmitt trigger
I have noticed that the Schmitt triggers barely fit the footprint (the leads are too long) and so many of the contacts seem to not be good. I have asked frank to fix the footprint for the next rev
One by one from cc increase to regen, I’m probing all of the path to the CB to make sure its continuous and not shorted. For some reason for cc on/off and regen, it was dicontinuous to the Schmitt triggers. That’s probably because the Schmitt triggers dont hit the pads right, and since trying to reflow it didn’t work I just added jumpers. The output of the Schmitt trigger to the CB for cc on/off actually had a discontinuity on the trace! See image below. In any case, that must have occurred from rework or something similar but required some mag wire jumpering to CB (actually the resistor array pads). For some reason there was also discontinuity between the output of regen toggle on Schmitt trigger and cb, so i also jumpered that with some mag wire. The problem here once again might have been the Schmitt trigger footprint
Testing with the steering firmware once again to see what buttons respond i see that there is a greater than 2000 value for all the buttons. Also all the buttons but cc decrease trigger an interrupt (i dont think cc decrease was enabled)
