Revisiting W21 goals…

  • Assembling final versions of boards

  • Motor Sense Validation (Hall-effect issues) - Weekend :)

Integrate new hardware changes

  • No major/core firmware projects

  • focusing on integrating changes in a timely manner

 

CanExplorer

  • Aiming for demo in October, will try to get it to onsite members

  • An hour to review how to use the tool with onsite elec

  • Add to the onboarding / training plans

  • Could have a future training session targeted towards those that would maintain it

  • Led by Mitchell

  • has been fairly stagnant, will push for it next term to be used for integration testing

  • A way to get members familiar with the vehicle itself

 

Bootloader

  • Moving a bit slowly, hoping to deploy next term

  • New member migh tbe able. to help accelerate deployment

Board Sendout

  • Pedal, UV Cutoff and Precharge/MCI - no major changes but would be good for Firmware to check

  • PD has a small rev fix - had an issue about an enable put to a wrong pin

2nd Week of September

Wiring Diagram

  • Diagram is basically done

  • Phase 2 should be done early next term but it might be delayed due to other priorities, not the end of the world

BMS / BPS Testing

  • Have the testing setup, to conduct testing of the system next term

  • Simulate what would be done during scrutineering, separate from other integration testing

  • Micah to write a test plan

  • Testing for current limits was done by soldering in an extra bridge to the amplifier

 

Charger Interface Testing

  • Not done…

  • Want to test with the VSC charger, ELCON charger communications, HV supply for input

  • Need to completely debug before potentially starting a new rev

 

Pick and Place Machine

  • First draft of safety manual is complete

  • Need to purchase all replacement equipment next term

  • Need to pick up the machine next term

 

Other:

  • Those familiar with vehicle architecture (apart from leads): Jess, Mitchell, Jarvis

  • No in-person onboarding component this term

  • Who will be onsite next term apart from Mitchell and Jess?

  • more CAN adapters…? Talk to Jess to see if there’s more equipment. the team may need/want?

  • Solar enclosure may be moved under the rear enclosure

 

Concerns:

  • MPPT issues - not consistent

  • Harnessing is blocked by mech in general

 

Boards (Onsite Progress)

  • Fully test Charger Interface

  • Testing AFEs and BMS to make sure we have thermistor readings

  • MPPTs don’t consistently boost, need to do more testing to see what’s wrong

  • Solar - Relay driver wasn’t working properly, need to replace the IC + conduct ideal diode tests

  • Debug Power Selection

  • Lights - have to test with higher driving currents if we need to make the lights brighter

  • Needs to be tested under previous BMS carrier configuration. Lower priority, focus on solar and charging.
