This simulation has been redone to reflect the stock tube sizes VR3 has on hand. The only change is the geometry from 0.4375" x 0.065" to 0.4375" x 0.058" tubes.

Background Information 

This simulation is a revised version of Upper Control Arm, with a thinner wall thickness to accommodate VR3's standard stocked sizes. The simulations are identical from a loading/boundary standpoint.

Conclusion & Recommendation 

This simulation netted a larger safety factor. The removal of the gap weld in the previous simulation reduced stress concentrations greatly. VR3 is good to manufacture with the provided tube size
