Connecting Side Panels

Context

The side panel molds are two separate halves. We want to connect them, learning from the troubles that previous members had with connecting the bottom panel mold.

Requirements/Constraints

  • ease of assembly

  • accuracy

  • ease of disassembly

  • cost

  • time required

Brainstorming

Pin and Dowel

  • load them on rollers

Underside Pin and dowel

  • allows one mold to be lowered slowly in place

Rail system for the halves

 

Ratcheting tie down clamps

  • find a way to restrain laterally and then ratchet them together

Alignment blocks, similar to BP

  • holes on both panels, on the sides, then a block that sits on top
