Initial final concept sketch:

 

NOTE: MOUNTING PROBLEM IS DETAILED DESIGN PROBLEM :)

Look of dashboard: 

  • Simplistic

  • Want to prioritize getting dash done instead of it looking nice

  • Considering half dashboard for driver side (ie doesn’t enclose all the way down to feet)

  • Need to make sure driver display is visible based on steering wheel position

    • Steering wheel must be fully enclosed (ie no rari wheel :,,( )

 

Must keep this in mind:

 

  • Is infotainment screen going to be mounted vertically or horizontally?

Infotainment:

  • Adjustable screen (can move back and forth for versatility)



 

Ventilation:

This area needs to allow for air flow and it also needs to be able to withstand a person’s weight

  • Should be free of anything that could block it



Cup holder / phone holder / mask holder:

Prime cupholder area:

 

Driver display area:

  • Black = area we glue overhang for driver display to top dash enclosure

  • Blue = driver display screens

  • Red = enclosure

 



For passenger side:

  • Bottom compartment is lockable compartment for electronics

  • Top compartment is glovebox

  • Bottom enclosure can/should extend lower than driver side bc of electronics enclosure compartment

  • Need a panel to separate top and bottom enclosure bc need to separate storage from electronics
