Proper Threadlocking

I’ve been doing some research into threadlocking recently, and have found some interesting stuff that I didn’t know. Making this page for reference and for others to learn. This page will be focused on Henkel Loctite.

 

Overview and main takeaways

  • Loctite cures in the absense of air and the presence of metal ions.

    • Using it on plastic parts won’t do much good

  • Some metals are ‘active’ - meaning they have metal ions, some do not and will require a primer to create a good bond
