Future Projects

These are a list of projects that would be cool to do in the future and could help us be more competitive on the world stage, however are not a wise use of resources at the moment. These would require a large investment of time by someone with 4th year level knowledge in the respective areas of the design.

  • Make our own MPPTs

  • Paralleling DC-DC converters

  • Make our own motor controllers?

  • Distributed BMS with mesh network

  • Automotive Ethernet instead of CAN?

 

Other Long Term Projects

  • Controller board updates

  • Adaptable AUX charger

  • Redundant monitoring for pedal positions (especially brake)

  • AIM towards ASIL (Automotive Safety Integrity Level) standards

  • GPS Board

  • USB-CAN adapter - there are some designs based on the STM32 chips open source that we can base our design off of.
