Problem Statement

While creating graphics within the past few terms, there has not been much consistency in the design of them.

  • i.e. last 6 posts being similar in design and pleasing to look at

Guideline

Topic (i.e. colour, layout, etc.)

Guideline

When to break consistency:

Consistency can be broken for:

  • important events or acknowledgments (ex. BLM)

  • posts that we want to stand out on our feed

  • things that don’t fit in with our regular content

Feed layout / appearance

  • Ensure that all important graphic elements (text, logos, and preferably anything that’s not a background) fit in the inner square of the post. When someone views our profile, all post previews are in a square shape, so we don’t want things to get cut off.

  • Have some posts flow into eachother

    • Especially if they are of similar content (i.e. Crowdfunding videos)

Colour

Try to stick with the colour scheme in our Brand Book for colours.

  • All posts following these guidelines should have a midsun blue background/border of some sorts or midsun blue tint over photos

    • Must try to incorporate our oranges as well as white when possible

Typography

  • Use our typography (Roboto font).

    • Bebas Neue for large/standout text

Reference

@uwmidsun on all socials

  • Consider the consistency of @lolesports on instagram

    • Notice how clean the posts look

    • Notice how some posts stand out when they break consistency of graphics.

Also consider GBDAsoc’s instagram feed

  • Flows well

  • Overall appealing to look at
