Mech-elec Board mounting plan - meeting

Notes:

  • we are going with the first option but without separate bosses and a permanent base to extrusion

  • Possibly use polyerthane poron in between base of mount and base of box → some vibration protection → 1/8” thick foam

  • maybe use double sided foam tape

  • In future, have boards have bottom clearance of ~8mm diameter host

  • Epoxy with foam? Hot glue makes things easy to take off but not secure

  • vertical boards: slot mounting with pins to align with board → AFEs and UV cutoff board

To do:

  • talk to vansh and get started on mount design → need to be finished by next term

  • ask mech what epoxy is available to use → need to calculate because mech is not planning on purchasing and we don’t know how much we have → we only have to care about this in the winter term when doing integration

  • Next term: start gluing onto pieces of wood for mockup → test foam during this time as well
