July 5 - 11

Chassis: (All done!)

  • Access to Welding Room

  • Finish sanding & assembling jigs (done)

  • Drop off parts for welding

  • Assembly more jigs

  • Welding components onto Chassis

Aero: (Bleeding into week of July 12 - due to booking conflicts with Waterloop)

  • Side Panel Molds ready by the end of this week for layup

Battery Box:

  • Continue module manufacturing

 

July 12 - 18

Chassis:

  • Pick up waterjet parts - End of the week

  • Sand chassis, assemble more jigs

  • Schedule welding in E5 - welding components onto Chassis

    • Clamping tubes prior to welding

Aero:

  • Finish prepping side panel molds - end of the week

  • Begin material prep for side panels layup

    • blocked by no driver - see if we have a driver???

    • drawings are ready

  • Make a decision if we want to layup both - yes to both

  • finish side panel molds 3, 4

  • b bulkheads sand, potentially make blank and machine second mold as well (based on SDC)

    • first b-bulkhead sanded

    • second b-bulkhead - in progress

Composites:

  • infusion testing Saturday

  • Double check prep work for the infusion testing session (Friday)

    • use mold release/PVA, don’t apply Loctite

 

July 19 - 25

Chassis:

  • Pick up waterjet parts - Early this week (Saturday)

Aero:

  • visit cold storage to pick up adhesive film

  • chassis measurements for b-bulkhead

  • layup on Thursday

    • mold release on side panel 1 and 2

    • connect the molds (molds are misaligned)

      • smooth the connection points/ends of the molds

      • adding fasteners?

    • material prep (nomex, vacuum bag, breather cloth, peel ply),

    • pick up kerosene

    • trim carbon fibre and adhesive film

Composites:

  • next infusion test will be next week - run by Michael

    • for this week, prep materials

    • Prep for a small test for Saturday to test variables

Battery Box:

  • Continuing spot welding (Wednesday)

Purchases:

  • Adhesive film for 2nd side panel (2nd week of august for material prep) - process through university

 

July 26 - Aug 1

Chassis:

  • Submit work request and drop off parts at E3 (Monday)

  • Sanding areas where seat belt mounts will be welded (Thu/Fri)

Aero:

  • Cure & Demold L. Side panel (Thursday)

  • Finish sanding R. Side Panel 3,4 molds

    • checking Thursday for completion

  • Organize prepreg in the freezer

    • adhesive film, prepreg scraps were put into a bin

    • larger pieces have been collected and stored

    • Thursday: check remaining quantity of adhesive film for 2nd side panel

      • have enough adhesive film for 2nd side panel

  • Make material list for 2nd Side Panel

    • Cold Storage run?

      • Material classification

    • Goal: Purchase list to be ready by Wednesday to be made Thursday (if going through University)

      • No need for purchase other than inventory for prepreg & adhesive film

  • B-Bulkhead

    • Reach out to Brian to machine B-bulkhead mold @Mackenzie Lui @Kyle Justin Lacson (Deactivated) - let Brian know

    • Chassis measurements

Composites (Infusion):

  • Testing the Glass:

    • Test #1: Pull vacuum on glass to see if it can hold vacuum (Monday/Tuesday) - FAIL

    • Test #2: use wax/grease remover for glass midweek and pull vacuum (Wednesday/Thursday) - FAIL

    • Reach out to Graeme about the current glass and other options

      • Solved our Glass solution

    • Test #3: Try on Mirror in Composites Room (Friday) - didn’t need to try

    • Test #4: Interior’s sheet metal in bay - didn’t need to try

    • Test #5: Envelope bagging - is this still applicable?

    • Test #6: Flip glass to test on other side and pull vacuum (End of Week) - didn’t need to

  • Obtain inlet & clamps from Brian

  • Infusion Test: Material Prep for test piece (before Saturday) - working session # of people is dependent

    • Saturday July 31st: Run Resin through part - SUCCESS

    • Demolding Aug 1st - SUCCESS

Battery Box:

  • 12 more modules to go for final step

Side panels:

  • #3 almost done

  • #4 up to 600

Purchases to be made:

  • Adhesive film for 2nd side panel (2nd week of august for material prep) - process through university (15 sqm)

  • Venturi Pump

    • possibly WEEF F21

    • Find Canadian companies

  • Purpose-built Vacuum Bag

    • Get 1 sample to test with

    • Follow up with discount or sponsorship details

  • Begin Material Prep for 2nd Side Panel
