Welcome!

Orange → New Teams (New canadian team - welcome Dalhousie)

  • New Mexico has a 14-day quarantine rule and if that’s still in place for August, ASC will not enter the state

  • garages and electrical hook-ups are available for ‘rent,’ nothing is pre-assigned

  • AC in timing/scoring and potentially AC in the tech center

  • Highly encouraged for representatives of teams who are already concerned about attending the in-person events, to attend this session on Sunday

Guest Speaker - Richard King

Including most of the slides but you’ll want to watch the recording to hear the juicy history parts

This guy got to go to Switzerland!

A lot of these cars back then had to constantly plug into trailers and had tiny panels on the back…

(Top right) 2 drivers - one facing forward and one facing backwards. After pit stops, they would ‘flip,' depending on the position of the sun

Beach race in Japan

Honda R&D

Book Sale → email Richard if interested in buying a copy (only 30 left )

GM Sunrayce was first in 1990 and then Sunrayce was started in 1993 and would happen every 2 years (Richard started the latter). Later re-branded as ASC

Hey we made it (this picture is better than any MS VII photo we have )

Back when it was the NASC → this is the route MS VII followed!

Decided to start this event for architects and engineers → solar-powered houses (10 days to build)

Solar Decathlon 2005

We should be tracking reach statistics too…

Solar Decathlon in Spain in 2012 (has gone global and moves around the US)
