Solar Sense Rev 2.0 concept:
Nomura solar sense PCB
This PCB will measure the voltage after each MPPT and the current through each string of 5 MPPTs
Connected on junction of -BAT to 1st and 6th MPPT
HV Side:
10 ADC connected to voltage tap (rated for difference between voltages)
Runs into I2C/SPI digital isolator
Connector with extra pin for shielding on wires
LV Side:
VBAT- and GND for MPPT #6 and #1 connector
2 SMD shunts (~7A rated) to measure current through MPPTs
STM32 connected with I2C or SPI to digital isolator collect data
In person solar panel and MPPT testing
Date TBD (after midterms and during sunshine )
Test MPPTs connected to panels outdoors connected to an E-load
Custom MPPT and Solar Sense PCB
This project involves designing our own MPPTs and deciding how the solar sense board should interact with them (feedback)
Currently deciding on how the MPPT should be designed (buck-boost or Cuk converter?)
