A few tasks are left to finish off the steering system:

  • Create a parts finalized version of all of the parts
  • Shrink tie rod slightly for adjustability
  • Tear out checks for clevises
  • Check tolerances
  • Steering stops
  • Try to get a smaller rod end for 40 degrees of rotation (We need 38 degrees as it stands)
  • Create drawings for all of the parts

Sunday we should have all of this ready.


Steering Arm Design Notes:

  • The mounting face on the upright has a slight angle wrt the side plane; it is rotated about the y axis. The steering arm face that is in contact with the upright has the same angle to accommodate for this.
  • The fillet sizes are arbitrary
