Resistance-Testing Plan

GOAL: Measure Resistance of current-pack with more-precision for pack characterization. Module to Module, Cell to Terminal Busbar

Test set-up:

  • Range: up to 1 micro-meter

  • Test Set-Up:

    • Pass high (known) current and measure voltage drop - have known shunt resistors (in the bay) so we can use that to ensure current measurement is accurate

      • Elec - test takes 10 minutes to do

    • For measuring resistance in-between pack: measure resistance of pack, and subtract the resistance of the cells - source a measure unit from school labs

    • To-dos: create a set-up for measuring very-accurate low-voltage readings

      • As high current as possible

      • Multimeter

      • Can be made by firmware though not required

  • Battery Impedance Meter - more detailed behavior, AC (not needed)

  • DC determines real-life behaviors whereas AC is a standardize-way of comparing between-cells
