 4 November 2023

Modules

  • Added inserts to the remaining top cell holders + top covers

  • Potted busbars for another cell holder, but ran out of busbars for more (waiting on the dwg file so we can cut another batch)

  • Measured cell voltages for another module's worth of cells

  • @Nicole Choe and @Taylor Elena Avery Hazelwood worked on enclosure jig manufacturing

  • @jenna k was working on CAD for aux. finished except securing mechanism needed to baffle, probs bolted connection

Enclosure:

  • Progress made on manufacturing modules. Manufacturing modules, but ran out of busbars - Vaibhav to message Caleb, who was in charge for water-jet files to forward the file to the group

  • Steel Flat Jig was tested and fits to chassis. Taylor cut 3/4 wood pieces needed for our enclosure jig, and I've asked her to cut holes for two of them. To be completed by Saturday

  • All screws set aside for Enclosure jig.

  • Tested another 32 cells for the module

  • Welding deadline for steel flat to enclosure is November 15th. Waiting for angle irons (hopefully in by wed 8th)

  • Enclosure panel MDF cutting needs to be redone - to be completed by Wednesday's working session (November 8th)

  • As soon as the angles arrive - Jenna to send a message @channel so machining can start as soon as possible.

  • 3D Prints to be assigned by Shem, after his Enclosure Design meeting with Jenna

 9 Nov 2023
  • Finished milling steel flats, cut to-size +- 0.4mm (outside XV-BAT129 Steel_Cross_Bar cut -0.9mm). This issue will be fixed by welding. Disregard yesterday's 2mm undersize, that was a mistake

  • Finished cutting angle irons - will be milled to-size by tomorrow

  • Worked with Machine Shop Guy to plan cutting holes into parts using mill - will finish tomorrow

  • Validating Chassis Cross bar jig tomorrow by milling holes into a scrap 1/4" piece

  • 1/4" Steel for Chassis Cross bar has not arrived yet. Will ping when metal arrives

  • MDF for the enclosure jig is all cut! Thank you so much @jenna k

HUGE SHOUT-OUT TO @Jericho Mordasiewicz @Taylor Elena Avery Hazelwood @Jason Siu @Evan McMahon for all your help today and for coming in tomorrow to finishing up the milling, you guys are awesome : ))) I will ping you guys to tomorrow's instructions in this channel in a thread (edited)

Note that WE DO NOT HAVE ANY EXTRA MATERIAL. I'd rather you guys make 3 perfect parts than make 8 parts that are bad. Quality first, we have time on the weekend if need-be

***Just an FYI, the holes for drawings 132 and 133 are pretty critical so be extra careful to be within tolerance with those! - Shem (edited)

  1. Locate Stock Material. DO NOT TOUCH THE ANGLE IRON TO THE RIGHT - that has already been milled

Tho worst comes to worst we can just make the holes bigger if it does come out of spec and we run into assembly issues

Shem Kim  2 minutes ago

But try to be within spec!
