Load rate used for Universal Testing Machine (UTM) was 0.5 mm/min.

Summary / Conclusions

Adhesive testing has found that surface preparation techniques have a profound effect on the adhesive’s strength. Degreasing provides a 46.55% stronger bond than using no surface preparation technique. Abrasion provides a 64.78% stronger bond than using no surface preparation technique.

Adhesive testing has also found that thorough and proper preparation of adhesive joints greatly influences whether it will result in utter failure or a superior bond.
