Sponsorship Contact Process

  1. Find a potential sponsor

  2. Research the sponsor

  3. Call the sponsor

  4. Obtain internal contact for sponsor 

  5. Send personalized sponsorship package to sponsor

  6. Discuss with sponsorship matrix with sponsor 
  7. If sponsorship is successful, do the following steps:

    1. Add sponsor to contact list

Wait for a response – Don't drone on.

Introduce the team – very brief

We’re a design team on campus designing our twelfth solar car capable of highway speeds.  Our plan is to attend the American Solar Challenge in 2018 and the World Solar Challenge in 2019.


Make a connection – Elaborate on the connection. Do your research!

Solar cells, composites, electrical parts, etc.


Ask if they want to have a “partnership”

Money sponsorship,

In kind sponsorship,

Monetary sponsorship,

Sponsorship on car parts, discounts.

Speak about spreading their name throughout the university and outreach opportunities for their company.
