Atlassian Stuff
- Instructions for financial stuff (and reimbursements) is now under Business in Confluence
Chain of Communication
- We should have a well-defined chain of communication for various subteams (team leads, team Manager, etc.)
- Will be discussed at a later date
Team Goals and Resolutions
- MSXI is too expensive and time-consuming to fix for a future race
- As a result, we will build MSXII on top of the things we've learned from MSXI
- Next 2 terms will be dedicated to designing MSXII
- This term is more high-level design
- Next term will finalize the design
- We will also be spending time teaching new members about the car, and spreading the knowledge
Electrical (Software/Hardware)
- We will be focusing on making a system that is easier to maintain, manufacture and debug
- Building a controller board that breaks out the microcrotroller and the important parts that make a board work
- Anything system-specific will have a carrier board that will make it interchangable
- Prototype controller board will be in by the end of the week (Kevin is handling this)
- Software is changing architectures, and switching MCUs from TI MSP430s to the STM chips (ARM instead of MSP430s)
- A gradual process to port/rewrite the firmware
- We can test out the new electrical system in the car, since it is roughly car-agnostic (ie. we can swap out the electrical in MSXI with the new electrical system)
Mechanical
- 2 terms for design
- Kinematic model by the end of the term (HARD DEADLINE)
- By the end of this week, we will decide what materials we're using for the frame and aerobody (Sunday)
- By the end of the month, we'll have tasks for the new members to work on
- Figure out what we're giving the new members for next week
- Maintain Skype calls on Sunday
Business
- Making sponsorship calls and emails
- Refining the sponsorship strategy that Business team takes
- Talk to old sponsors about progress
- Student Design Showcase (today, afternoon)
- Recruiting all the first-years
- Solar Car Expo
- see Meeting Notes from yesterday
- Working on guidelines for answering generic questions
Activities for New Members
Business
- Making a curriculum
- How to write cover letters
- How to make sponsorship calls

- Soldering tutorials
- Getting to know the specific bits of PCB design
- Rules that we follow (like what not to do)
- Run workshops on how the boards work and do what they do
- Brief overview of all the systems
Mechanical
- Will be finalized by the end of the month
