TimeItemNotes
20minDefining Critical Electrical Dates
  • All key electrical dates were discussed and deemed achievable at this time
10minElectrical Sub System Mounting Points
  • Mech wants mounting points for all electrical systems before the chassis is sent to VR3
  • Elec is not able to give space estimates at this time due to boards not being defined and all resources not being sourced
  • Decision:
Elec will define the follow locations as where they wish to mount their systems:
    • Frontal LV system
    • Rear PJB
    • Roof Box
    • Motor controllers
Mech will take these requirements and determine what are logical mounting points to house 'boxes' for these systems. Mech will plan to largely overshoot this space.
Best case all space is required and mounting points are utilized as intended. Worst case a smaller area is used and Mech adds a fixture that bridges the gap from the
mounting points to the electrical sub system 'box'. This prevents a mounting solution from being added later this year as an afterthought.
5minChassis Design Freeze
  • Mechanical was originally intending to freeze all chassis design by May 31st. It is very likely that this date will not be hit. Therefore the hard deadline is being pushed to
Sunday June 4th. This will give aerobody almost 2 complete months to nail down their designs and approximately 1 month to finalize details of manufacturing with VR3.
5minElectrical Ventilation & Wiring
  • Electrical had questions regarding how ventilation will be integrated into the vehicle and if wiring channels were being considered.
  • This discussion has been pushed until the chassis has been locked.
5minAerobody - Paint or Gel coat
  • During our last call with Formashape their engineer recommended we look into other surface finishes, as he claims a gel coat does not last long in UV applications.
  • This discussion has also been pushed until the chassis has been locked

Action items

  • Jessica LinMinghao Ji We wanted to confirm that the current plan for the array is to place our order (aka our deposit) for our array in November of 2017 with an official PO, while expecting delivery in January of 2018.
  • To discuss with Formashape about receiving molds as they are manufactured. This would mean molds would arrive from August-November every few weeks instead of all arriving in November. Allowing us to manufacture array panels during Fall of 2017.
  • Matt Suski Confirm with the chassis team that from now until June 4th it is all hands on deck. Long hours/days might need to be pulled to guarantee we hit our extended deadline in time.
