Corporate Sponsors

Description: Corporate sponsors are companies that donate to our team in exchange for sponsorship perks (e.g. logo on our car, promotion on social media etc...).

Examples: Samuel Son & Co., TMMC

Approach: Attaining sponsorships from corporate sponsors requires a lot of time. We usually have to jump through a lot of hoops and talk to a lot of people. Therefore, we should only approach corporate sponsors if we have an internal contact to make the process smoother.

Donors

Description: Donors are people (friends, family etc...) who donate money to our team or the SDC usually through the SDC donation page.

Examples: My parents, alumni, anonymous donors etc...

Approach: Make sure we keep a list of people who donate and ask them to renew their donations every year. Ask team members to ask their friends and family to donate.

In-Kind Sponsors

Description: Companies who provide materials or services for free or at a discount

Examples: Demtool, Baumier, ClickBond

Approach: Cold call suppliers and ask if they are interested in helping out. Get them excited about the project and think of them as a part of our team.
