  1. In JIRA, click the blue "Create" button.


  2. For Electrical issues, we want project to be Electrical (ELEC) and the Issue Type to be Story.
    We want to fill out the following fields: (for explanations, see Using JIRA)

    Leave all other fields blank or as their default value.




  3. You can see that the issue ELEC-151 - Getting issue details... STATUS has now been created. The assignee has been switched to Taiping Li, but this is otherwise a good example of what a JIRA issue should look like.
    This issue number should be included in any commits that are made. Now that the issue has been created, just begin the JIRA workflow by clicking In Progress when you begin work.
