This page will outline the roles and responsibilities + action plan for the Spring '21 term!

Agenda

  • Figure out how people can maximize the amount of on-site work (take things home, go into bay, what they can accomplish)

  • Figure out all tasks that can be delegated + how can we make them so that those people can help the onsite team (creating BOMs, Digikey, test plans)

  • Role shifts / assignments --> onsite vs. offsite leads (onboarding), who needs support where people take stuff done but end up blocked or can’t --> how to minimize that, how to achieve the mental state to push or ask for support --> will people be more motivated if given more responsibilities?

Term Goals

No specific dates since COVID might just screw everything up… will use time estimates 😢

Priority

Timeline

Assembling final versions of boards

  • PD, Lights, Steering, Solar, UV Cutoff, BMS Carrier

HIGH

4 months

Final designs for boards (for sendoff by EOT)

  • Pedal, Precharge, UV Cuttoff?, Solar?

HIGH

4 months

Complete wiring diagram

  • Make the importance of the tasks more clear (smile)

  • Aren’t too far from completion

HIGH

End of June

MANDATORY WORK SESSIONS 😤

Finalize enclosure layouts

  • Feedback for interiors

MEDIUM

dependent on Interiors

Validation / Testing

  • Powertrain, MCI

  • Charger Interface

    • Elcon Charger to mockup battery

  • Precharge

  • BMS

    • Connect power supply to each channel, verify lower and upper faults

  • Solar Sense → can test outside (tongue) (MPPT layout)

  • Don’t have a load to test motors… Need to put it on the car

MEDIUM

Further testing motors depends on mech (need rolling chassis)

BMS → dependent on battery, also need BMS Carrier assembled

HV integration into mockup

LOW

Telemetry, Headlights and Cameras (w/ Interiors)

Carryover from Fall 2020

Carryover from Winter 2021

All onsite tasks:

  • Assembling final versions of boards (HW)

    • PD

    • PS (done)

    • Steering

    • Lights

    • Solar

    • UV Cutoff

    • Centre Console (done)

    • Current Sense (done)

  • Motor Sense Validation (HW)

    • At the stage of integrating Sense to Controllers

    • Blocks all of Power Train

  • High voltage testing (HW)

    • Integration Testing

    • Blocked by Motor Sense Validation

    • Blocked by Pre-Charge integration testing

  • Assemble final versions of most boards (excl. AFE, DCDC, Charger interface, MCI) (January)

    • HW validation for new versions

    • Notes:

      • Aashmika has the reflow at home to assemble most boards

      • if lockdown happens, this can still be done at Aashmika’s house.

    • Unit test boards once they return

      • if designs are flawed, board needs to be resent (at any stage)

  • Integrate into mockup (February) - must be onsite

    • Displays

    • Horn

    • Cameras

    • Telemetry Router

  • Mockup Testing

    • Solar

    • BMS Full (Pending Battery pack, and other testing)

    • MCI, Limit testing for Motors (includes carryover from F2020)

    • Full Mockup Integration (w/ displays)

    • Worst case: bleed into Spring

  • Complete all harnessing/make diagram for full vehicle (near EOT)

    • Includes layout

    • Note: this is offsite, if lockdown, will move this task to Jan

  • Finalize Enclosures Layout
    (to plan for post W2021)

Spring Term

  • Assembling Final Versions of Boards

  • Complete all board mounts

  • Complete all harnesses

  • Complete all enclosures

  • Assemble all items

On-Site Capacity

Aashmika (School)

• Assembly of final versions of boards
• Precharge

• Onsite
• Available on most weekends
• Can possibly take some boards home to work on, during the week

Micah
(School)

• Motor sense validation
• Enclosures finalization

• On site, focus on battery box (1 month)
• Part-time + 3A… 😅

James L
(Co-op)

• Assembly of final versions of boards
• Telemetry Diagram

• Remote, will in in-person in Fall 2021
• Most likely can’t help

Nita
(School)

• Assemble PD (reflowed on side, hand-assembled the other side)
• Task force for diagram making

• Remote
• Can maybe visit on weekends but will be overloading during the term

Liam
(School)

• Assembly of final versions of boards

• Remote
• has equipment to do assembly / validation without being in loo

Kristen
(School)

• Harnesses?

• On Site
• Grunt work (smile) that requires limited hardware knowledge

Ricky
(Co-op)

• Onboarding?

• Onboarding 😃
