Recruitment Positions
This page outlines the project roles we’d like to fill this term. It would be ideal to have at least one DRI (Designated Responsible Individual) for each role.
The roles are classified as either Onsite or Remote due to the Covid-19 situation going into the spring term.
Onsite members will help the manufacturing of Interiors projects such as Catamaran Cover, Seats and Doors that are past the design phase.
Remote members will contribute to the design and validation of the more recent projects such as Dashboard, Displays, Steering Wheel and Trim.
Steering Wheel Project [Remote]
Positions:
Openings: 1
Relevant Fields: Management, Communications, Mechanical Design
Responsibilities:
Manage high-level documentation, timeline and purchasing
Arrange and run meetings, record meeting notes
Communicate with relevant stakeholders (mainly the hardware and dynamics teams)
Support form factor and materials/manufacturing as necessary

Relevant Fields: Mechanical & Industrial Design, CAD Design, Simulation & Testing
Responsibilities:
Fine-tune the design of metal and 3D printed steering wheel components (SolidWorks)
Validate structural integrity through calculations and/or FEA
Communicate with relevant stakeholders (mainly the hardware and dynamics teams)
Determing placing of buttons on the wheel and their corresponding electrical components
Integrate with steering stalk, steering column and tilt mechanism

Responsibilities:
Will work very closely with the Form Factor DRI
Research and validate the right materials for all parts of the wheel
Determine the easiest and most inexpensive manufacturing method
Create the manufacturing and asssembly plans
Will work closely with the Supplier Interfacing Team to contact potential companies for manufacturing services, materials, etc.

Trim Project [Remote]
Positions:
Openings: Multiple
Relevant Fields: Industrial Design, CAD Design, Illustration
Description:
Further define the final aesthetic of the interior with current progress of interiors projects i.e. more refined concept sketches
Model any aesthetic/non-structural interior panels
Cover up any exposed components (wires, chassis tubes, fasteners, etc.)

Displays Project [Remote]
Positions:
Openings: Multiple
Relevant Fields: UI/UX and Product Design
Description:
Practice design thinking to create user-centered designs
Conduct user research and usability testing to evaluate the problem space and your designs
Complete visual and interaction design for various apps to be used for competition
Present work to other designers for review and feedback
Collaborate with PMs, engineers, and other members of the displays team to bring designs to life!
Driver Display (as of W2021)
General Manufacturing [Onsite]
This position is heavily dependent on the Covid-19 situation and our availability to go back on campus
Openings: Multiple
Relevant Fields: Composites Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Machining, Material Testing
Description:
Help in the manufacturing of parts for Catamaran Cover, Seats and Doors
Gain hands-on composites experience (molds, carbon fibre and fibreglass layups)
Conduct material testing as per the ASC regulations and requirements from each project
Help with Aerobody manufacturing as needed
