Latch Type	Description	Advantages	Disadvantages
Cam/Twist	consists of cam and base actuated by rotating motion ex. cabinet doors	can be flush with outer face can be locked with keys	might be too complicated for the purpose mounting might be difficult
Pull down/Toggle	pivoting levers and drawbars that reach into catches ex. some containers	only 3 components easy to secure come in various sizes and materials force is directed downwards
Push to Close	lock in place when closed require trigger to open spring-loaded ex. cabinet doors	simple to secure and open	many components mounting might be difficult
Slide/Swing	sliding pin and separate catch ex. doors	easy to use only 3 components easy to mount	may not be secure enough
