Modules are built in sequential order of steps weekly based on working session times, and tasks that cannot be finished during the working sessions will be assigned to members to work on throughout the week.

  • The steps referred to in this doc are found here: Module Step-by-Step Procedure

  • This page will have all relevant updates to where we currently are in terms of quantity of modules after it has been run through Donna

    • Please send updates of progress if working on modules throughout the week the Mech-Battery-Box channel on Slack

Assembly Name

Quantity

Dependency

Soldered Voltage Taps

14 Double ones (11 Thick, 3 thin)

40 Singles (36 thin, 4 thick)

  • Nickel Strips

  • 28 AWG wire

Potted Busbar to Top Cell Holder

7

  • Busbars

  • Top cell holders (completed manufacturing)

Soldered SigmaClad Busbars

1

  • SigmaClad busbars cut

  • 28 AWG wire

  • Solder voltage taps to busbars that have been potted (step 5)

  • Continue to pot busbars to the top cell holder (steps 2-3)

    • If restrained by the number of clamps, work on bending sigma clad in the meantime (Step 2)

  • Measure cell voltages (at minimum for 2 modules, so measure 64 cells)

Potting the top cell holders and soldering the voltage tap to busbars should be done throughout the weeks between working sessions whenever possible.

Current number of potted busbars (as of Nov. 6th): 4

Current number of soldered busbars (as of Nov. 6th): 0

Current number of soldered voltage tap sets (as of Nov. 6th): 0 - need to check in bay

 Sat. Nov. 11, 2023
  • Continue to pot busbars to the top cell holder if not completed

  • Use as a day to catch up on steps 1-5 (the steps done in the previous working sessions) for newly printed sets if needed

  • Measure cell voltages (at minimum for 2 modules, so measure 64 cells)

  • Continue soldering voltage taps if need be

  • Proceed to steps 6-8 with available parts

Placing the cells in the necessary order (steps 6-8) should be done throughout the week between working sessions depending on if we have the necessary materials (enough cells measured, and enough top and bottom plates)

Current number of modules with cells (as of Nov. 6th): 0

 Wed. Nov. 15, 2023
  • Use as a day to catch up on steps 1-5 (the steps done in the previous working sessions) for newly printed sets if needed

  • Spot welding safety walk-through and reviewing how to charge

    • Setting up a charge system

  • Potting modules walk through

Spot welding of the cells in the modules should take place whenever possible throughout the week.

Current number of spot-welded modules (as of Nov. 6th): 0

Current number of potted modules (as of Nov. 6th): 0

 Sat. Nov 18, 2023
  • Spot welding the modules continued

  • Pick up from previous working sessions if need be

  • Continue potting modules

  • The rest of this timeline will offer ~14 days for conditional forecasting and any needed adjustments/ delays to the timeline. Which I am expecting to happen.
