  • Virtual wall fixture on inside of bearing (both bearings)

Image Added
  • Local Contact interaction between the screw head and the countersink on the bearing cap (both caps and all screws)

  • Bonded component interactions on the UCA plate, Bearing adapters, and Bearing Housing

    • I imagine these pieces will be welded together or something like that - MP

    • Remember to remove the global bond at the start of the sim as not every part is bonded

titleGeneral Loading Information

Fx & Fy:

  • Fx and Fy are first combined into a single force using trigonometry to determine the magnitude and angle the force acts at, called Fxy

    • Smile Khatri has a good example in their UCA report from the week of may 29th

  • Fxy applied at the inside of the UCA Bearing Adapter part, normal to a plane that is at the angle of the applied force

    • The force is only applied to one half of the cylindrical face

Fz:

  • Applied normal to the UCA Bearing Adapter part, on the side in which the direction of the force is acting
