Previous Proposed Changes to Pre-Charge:

Pre-Charge changes were previously researched, but not that much progress was done

Changes for MCI Rev 2.0

Main changes summarized:

  • Remove DC-DC

  • Replace HV FET with solid-state relays

  • Add Hall Effect Current Sensor

To Do:

  • Check if there are any new changes needed for conversion from MOV to SOV

  • Find any new ways to improve board

New Suggestions

  • Motor controller capacitors are currently charged with a constant voltage source and series resistor. This is always 50% efficient. For a challenger vehicle, it might be better to have a switching circuit (buck topology) to charge with constant current (which would also be faster).
