Chassis | Matt Suski, Adam Marchand | - Meeting with Prof. Kahn revealed that dynamic simulations is probably the way to go - too difficult to constrain the FEM model of the car accurately using static structural
- Beam elements not supported with implicit dynamics, therefore we need to mesh the solid model
- Meshing is in progress and has been successful thus far
- Auto mesh refinement should be used to ensure mesh independence
- Both sketch geometry and tube thickness will be varied/optimized using dynamic simulation results
- Soft deadline for chassis freeze is May 31, hard deadline is June 2
- Rigid bodies representing significant masses will be connected to the chassis using bonded contacts. This will better simulated loading during a collision
