FEA Results for Parallel Steering

 

Center Bar Plate:

Fixture: The virtual wall on the plate is positioned in the center to account for the interaction with the center bar. The plate is closer to the driver compared to the bar.

Modifications: The height of the unthreaded spacer has been changed to 12 mm to account for the force applied to the surface of the bolt holding the tie rod and steering plate together. A change in angle of force was made due the change in the center bar plate’s position, determined by @Caleb Mengistu .

Force: A force of 1 KN is being applied at the tie rod angle at the top of both unthreaded spacers, at an angle determined by the nodal assembly.

Various simulations were conducted using either 6061-T6 aluminum or alloy steel for the bar, with thicknesses of either 1/4 inch or 3/8 inch:
