Brake Cable Mounting Plate FEA

The purpose of this page is to show the FEA done on the Brake Cable Mounting plate discussed in this page (Boomerang option). I will be checking to see what the maximum load of this part is. Although, the thickness and material of the part could change in the near future.

Force is applied to the hole which the brake cable is connected to. The inner hole size is 7/16” based on specs from the Lokar Universal Emergency Brake Cable Manual. The outer diameter of the split line is 20.2mm. Varying amounts of force will be applied until yield strength is reached to find its max-loading case.

Mesh:

1.25mm mesh used.
