Shock Clevis FEA

Material: 6061-T6

Yield Strength: 2.750e+08 N/m^2

Fixtures:

  1. On Flat Faces

  1. Virtual Wall

Loading:

The shock clevis was tested under 5 different loading conditions. In each test, a force was applied within the 4 holes on the sides of the part directed inwards. The loads shown in the images below were duplicated on the other side of the part as well.

Recommendations:

As shown in the images from the results section, the maximum stress is found in the same location for all test cases. The maximum stress could be reduced by increasing the diameter of the holes. However, the stress is always below the yield stress of the material used to make the shock clevis. so this adjustment is not required.
