FSU-14 Clevis

The Clevis

Model Version: 9.2

Material: 6061-T6 Aluminum

Yield Strength: 275 MPa

Validation: June 22nd 2023

Fixtures

  • Virtual Wall where clevis will mount on the chassis and on the area of the bolt head

  • Flat faces fixtures on those same faces to restrict planar motion

Loading

  • This clevis is used at different nodes, similar to the bearing housing cap

    • Front and Rear UCA

    • Front and Rear LCA

  • The greatest resultant force (Fr) at any of those nodes will be used to test that case

    • Fr = sqrt(Fx^2 + Fy^2), angle = atan2(Fx,Fy)

  • The force is applied on the inner portion of the clevis on the face corresponding to the direction of that force

Recommendations

Clevis passes all sim cases well under the yield strength of the part, so there is room to remove material if needed.
