We want our tires to be evenly distributed. To get this we need a lower centre of gravity and/or wider base of car. This decreases load transfer which is what we need.

A lower COG makes our vehicle more stable to due to the decrease on weight/load transfer. So with a low COG you will have more control when accelerating, breaking and turning.
