Welding

What it it?

Fusing smaller parts together that really just make one part, but that’s not worth machining. The tasks are actually just setting up the welding jigs so that E3 can put it together.

Where on MSXIV?

• Upper Control Arm (UCA) (x2)

  • Welding together 2 tubes, 2 threaded inserts, and the bearing housing

• Pushrod (x2)

  • Welding together 1 tube and 2 threaded inserts

• Tie Rod (x2)

  • Welding together 1 tube and 2 threaded inserts

Tips

• CRITICAL: Before this can be completed, it is imperative that we are sure of the lengths of all the tubes/inserts, as described in UCA Tube Lengths?

• Refer to Tube End Welding Jig for the welding jigs. They should be made already, verify that they match the expected lengths of the final parts. Then assemble and ship to E3
