Chassis Simulation for 2020-10-03 Re-Design with Bulkheads Removed

Context:

In Fall 2020, the Midnight Sun Aerobody and Chassis Team are focusing on manufacturing carbon fibre panels and welding the Chassis together. During the process of making this happen, a few issues has arisen that led to interest in carrying out this simulation. The Aerobody team is unsure if the bulkheads being manufactured will be of sufficient structural quality. The Chassis team has found issues with assembling the front bulkhead into the welding procedures and would find it easier if the bulkheads were trimmed or cut into smaller pieces. Both of these are dependent on the degree of strength the front bulkhead requires to abide by regulations and design.

The simulation to be carried out is to see if the car would pass regulations without the bulkheads installed. If the car passes regulations, then there will be less accuracy and complexity that the Aerobody and Chassis team will have to abide by.

Simulation Set-up:

The simulations will use the exact same material properties and force set-up as the Chassis 2020-10-03 Re-Design. The results of these simulations can be found here.
