What is Sponsorship?

The Sponsorship team focuses on raising monetary and in-kind funding needed to needed to build our car. This funding can come from both internal sources (UW endowment funds, student societies or departments) as well as external sources (suppliers and corporate sponsors). 

 

Why is the Sponsorship Team Important? 

Any large project starts its execution phase by acquiring resources. Being effective at acquiring and managing resources of all kinds is the key to long term (and short term!) success. On Midnight Sun, the Sponsorship team is the foundation for our resource acquisition and management. 

 

Who should join the Sponsorship Team?

If you are interested in:

  • Building on your communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Learning how to manage relations with suppliers. 

  • Learning more about the team outside of a technical role.

Then the sponsorship team is right for you! 

 

What does the day-to-day of someone on the Sponsorship Team look like?

The sponsorship team primarily focuses on reaching out to potential corporate sponsors and identifying/applying for internal sources of monetary funding.
