Your support will help University of Waterloo's student-led design team, Midnight Sun to launch a consumer friendly solar race car for the American Solar Challenge 2018
Who are we?
We at Midnight Sun are presently working our gears around making the twelfth vehicle, second in our cruiser class. It is designed to look a lot more like a practical, consumer-friendly vehicle. Our goal is to race in the American Solar Challenge in 2018 and World Solar Challenge in 2019.

Midnight Sun XII
This is the XII we are looking forward to design. With our electrical frameworks already in their final builds, we have now moved forward to substantiate this by progressing over the chassis of the car. While all that is underway, funding from 'Adopt-A-Cell' would be used to complete the Solar Array for the car.
Initial Phases
This is our conceptual design for our cruiser class model. It is loosely based off Tesla Model S. And this is what our vision would look like in almost a year.

Chassis
Chassis holds the weight of the car. We try to make this as lighter and stronger as possible. For this we are…

Aero-body
Our Aero-body is designed to be light enough to glide through but still able to hold the weight of the chassis and two passengers. For this, we brought in Nomax and Polycarbonate Sheet to infuse strength in our model

Final Designs with BG
Why fund us?
For over a year, the Midnight Sun team has been pedantically designing, implementing, testing and refining a better and innovative model of the solar car ever seen. The hours have been put in by each and every member but there is still a long way to go. With the design phase almost completed, we are now inclining towards the mechanical segment. But this dream can't be reality without your help. The funding from this will be used to purchase specialized silicon solar cells that would cover the most of our aero-body to be the sole energy provider for our motors!

Rewards!
All the tiers are to be categorically devised here for backers to see.

About the team?
Midnight Sun today is the joint effort of many keen, enthusiastic and talented individuals here to bring a change, thus being the change. It's part of the on-going volunteer experience run by students for students of University of Waterloo. With over 150 active members, Midnight Sun is a talent pool for many with being one of the largest student design teams on campus. When the goal is as noble as saving our natural resources from this phase of the Earth, motivation comes from within.

With this we are convinced that Solar cars would be turning roads as soon as 2020. With the edge so close, it's crucial that we bring the best out of us and our vehicle and make this dream a reality! So are you with us today?
Progress so far!
