The Mechanical Team is a very large sub-team comprised of sections including Battery Structures & Cell, Dynamics Integration (Brakes, Steering Suspension), Chassis & Internal Structures, and Exteriors & Composites. To give a general summary of each of the sections:

  • Dynamics Integration Team is in charge of all things that move and is broken down into 3 separate teams: suspension, steering and brakes. We work with the design, testing, and assembly of these systems with the rest of the car.

  • Exteriors & Composites is in charge of the designing the exterior of the car, manufacturing all carbon fiber composites on the car, vehicle sealing and exteriors and chassis integration.

  • Chassis & Internal Structures provides the strength needed for supporting the different vehicular components as well as the payload and helps to keep the car rigid and stiff to maximize safety and driving performance.

  • Battery Structures & Cell is in charge of giving the car power to move. We assemble hundreds of lithium-ion battery cells into a battery pack that we design ourselves to provide the necessary voltage and current for our motors.

Your Fall 2024 Subteam Leads

Matthew Scorcia - Mechanical Project Manager

About Me
Hi, I'm Matt! I'll be going into 3B Mech Eng after completing my fifth co-op this fall. I joined the team back in my 1B term in spring 2022. Throughout that time, I took an interest into every aspect of the mech team, completing some design tasks and helping out during the manufacturing phase. I'm super excited for the new design cycle starting this fall!

Talk to Me About
Rock climbing, road trips, and traveling. I'm pretty much down to yap about anything, feel free to reach out at any time :)

Ethan Guan - Chassis & Internal Structures Lead

About Me

Hi, I’m Ethan and I’m a 2A Tron. I joined Midsun’s Interiors in my 1A term, and it’s been great seeing the car progress and meeting all the other amazing people on the team. I’ll be working with Anupam and Mido to lead the chassis and internal structures sub-team this term.

Talk to Me About

My interests are in micro-electric vehicles, mechanical design and material science, and I also love playing sports like volleyball, hockey, and pickleball. Feel free to talk to me about anything, I am always down for a yap sesh.

Anupam Sahoo - Chassis & Internal Structures Lead

About Me

Hey! I just wrapped up my co-op at Meta Materials and am starting my 2B term in Mechanical Engineering. I will be working alongside Mohamed as the Chassis Co-lead starting this term. I look forward to meeting and working with you all!

Talk to Me About

I’m into cars, basketball, robotics, and designing/building stuff. I also love hearing and learning about new things, so feel free to shoot me a message about anything!

Liam Ramlogan - Exteriors & Composites Lead

About Me
Hey, I’m Liam and I’m in 2A Tron. I joined Exteriors (formerly Aero) at the start of 1A, helping with composites manufacturing and mold design. I’ll be one of the Exteriors & Composites leads alongside Jaiden and we’ll be focusing on conceptualizing the MS16 aeroshell this term. Can’t wait to meet everyone!

Talk to Me About

Some of my interests include mech design, camping, sports (swimming, baseball, basketball), film, anime, but feel free to approach me about anything; I’m always down to learn new things!

Jaiden Hanley - Exteriors & Composites Lead

About Me
Hey, my name is Jaiden and I have been on Aerobody for over a year. I worked on every single mold for the pervious car and really enjoyed the process of composite manufacturing. I’ll be working with Liam as one of the Exteriors & Composites leads, and I’m looking forward to working with and meeting everyone!
