Purpose - Safety
Provide an isolation barrier between the PCB that holds the voltage measurement taps, and the fingers that could touch the high voltage traces on it.
Where does it sit?
On top of each battery module
Access Holes
The wires that connect to this board need a spot to come out. This lines up with the hole underneath
Clearance
Checking the clearance between the cover and the screws holding the PCB in. We have around 0.5mm of clearance, so we should be good!
Locking
A snap-in mechanism was created using half-circle pins on this part and cutouts on the wire guide. One thing to think about hers is now it will be removed. If you pinch the sides to grab a hold of it, that will force the pins into the cutouts and you won’t be able to remove it. - when the connectors are removed, you should be able to grab underneath the lip and pull the cover off.
Other Features
There is a large flat space on the top to allow us to put whatever we want - logo, battery details, etc.
