For all the boards in MSXIV, we need to figure out where they will be going in the car. This page will outline the required electrical enclosures.

Boards in Each Enclosure

Battery Box

  1. BMS Carrier

  2. BMS Current Sense

  3. 3x BMS AFEs

  4. Relay Sense Board

Rear Electrical Enclosure

HV Side

  1. DC-DC

  2. Motor Controller Interface/Precharge

  3. Charger Interface

    1. Though no HV is on this board, it interfaces with the HV charger and HV J1772 adapter, so we will keep it on this side

LV Side

  1. Rear Power Selection

  2. Rear Power Distribution

Front Electrical Enclosure

  1. Center Console

  2. Front Power Distribution

  3. DC-DC Converter for Monitor Power

Driver Controls

This is not strictly 1 enclosure, it is multiple boards in the same general area of the car.

  1. Steering Interface

    1. This board is mounted on the steering wheel with the connections going through the clockspring

  2. Steering Stalk Connector

    1. This is just an adapter to a microfit connector for the clockspring

    2. Will be mounted on the steering stalk

  3. Pedal

    1. Mounted near the rotation point for the acceleration pedal and the brake pedal

  4. Pi Zero and Driver Display

    1. Mounted in a ‘front dash’ area, need to discuss with interiors.

Solar Enclosure

  1. 2x Solar Sense

  2. 11x MPPTs

Motor Controllers

  1. Motor Controller, heat sink and fan

    1. Connectors mounted towards the bottom of the car

    2. Heat sinks should be mounted for natural convection optimization (fins in vertical direction)
