Assigning and Naming

For any new or revised components:

  1. Add them to the MSXV Master BOM

  2. Assign a part number (the next available one in the BOM) and add a descriptive name

  3. Name the CAD properly: Part No. Part_Name (e.g. XV-BAT1000 Crossbar_Jig)

  4. Keep updated (active/inactive and in progress/released)

For example: if making a jigging component for the enclosure, a properly named part would be: XV-BAT1000 Crossbar_Jig. After assigning the part no. and name in the master BOM, the CAD would also be under the same name. If any major revisions are made, a new part number is assigned and Rev_# is added to the part name, like XV-BAT1010 Crossbar_Jig_Rev_2.

Slack Etiquette

Good practices to follow to make sure our Slack stays clean and readable:

...

  • Gain technical knowledge of the project

  • Not as much of a time commitment

  • For floating members
