Goals

  • Provide a stable, reliable 12V supply to all of the LV systems

Background and strategic fit

The lithium-ion battery in the car is charged at a maximum voltage of 152 V. However, all of the LV system is designed to operate off of 12V. The purpose of the DCDC board is to take this 152V and regulate it to 12V to provide to the power distribution which will be in charge of providing it to all of the low voltage systems.
The DCDC board contains Vicor's DCM3623TA5N17B4T70 converter module with trimmed output to 13.5V to account for the impedances on the 12V line. This board also provides 16A output from the module for a total of about 240W of power to be distributed throughout the systems.

The latest revision of the board can be found here.
