The Mechanical Team is a very large sub-team comprised of sections including Battery Structures & Cell, Dynamics Integration (Brakes, Steering Suspension), Chassis & Internal Structures, and Exteriors & Composites. To give a general summary of each of the sections:
Dynamics Integration Team is in charge of all things that move and is broken down into 3 separate teams: suspension, steering and brakes. We work with the design, testing, and assembly of these systems with the rest of the car.
Exteriors & Composites is in charge of the designing the exterior of the car, manufacturing all carbon fiber composites on the car, vehicle sealing and exteriors and chassis integration.
Chassis & Internal Structures provides the strength needed for supporting the different vehicular components as well as the payload and helps to keep the car rigid and stiff to maximize safety and driving performance.
Battery Structures & Cell is in charge of giving the car power to move. We assemble hundreds of lithium-ion battery cells into a battery pack that we design ourselves to provide the necessary voltage and current for our motors.

Hi, I’m Jens (yens). I just wrapped up my 2B term in Mech, and am currently on co-op at ATS. I’ve always been a sort of “jack of all trades, master of none” person and have a lot of random skills because of it. Sure, there’s a point about it being useful and whatnot, but I think its cool to whip out some random skill whenever it seems useful/entertaining.I'm Matt! I'll be going into 3B Mech Eng after completing my fifth co-op this fall. I joined the team back in my 1B term in spring 2022. Throughout that time, I took an interest into every aspect of the mech team, completing some design tasks and helping out during the manufacturing phase. I'm super excited for the new design cycle starting this fall!

Hey ! My name is Michael and I’m in my 3B of Nanotechnology Engineering. I joined Midnight Sun back in the beginning of 1A and I’ll mainly be leading the Aerobody manufacturing this term as well as any composites manufacturing projects this term.
