Your Fall 2023 Leads

Alastair - Technical Lead Alastair Correya

Hey everyone! I’m Alastair and I’m currently in 3B of Computer Engineering. I’ve been a part of Midnight Sun since September 2020 and can certainly say it’s been a rewarding experience since then. I hope to meet a bunch of y’all online as well as on-campus for a bunch of onsite work (or just randomly for fun)

Jonathan- Technical Lead Jonathan Xie

Heyo, I’m Jonathan, a 2A Tron, and I joined the team as a little 1A with negative hardware knowledge, but I suppose that changed over a year. Midsun has a super friendly and supportive environment with so many opportunities for personal growth - take one step at a time, and before you know it, you’ll have walked a mile :D

You might also see me in the bay doing Mech Dynamics stuff, so if you’re wondering whether being on 2 teams is feasible, the answer is 100% yes!

Talk to Me About

  • Anything Midsun related 🚗 ☀️

  • Food! 🍲

  • Pokemon 🔥

  • What I carry in my fanny pack 🤔

here is one of my evil birds

Nita - Advisor (Former Technical Lead)Nita E

About Me
Hi, I’m Nita and I have been on the hardware team since January of 2019. I just graduated ECE this past year and now hang around E5 as a grad student. I somehow became a lead by sticking around long enough and not breaking too much stuff, so that’s pretty cool.

I have worked on charger interface, power select, and all of the lights boards for MSXIV since joining.

Talk to Me About

  • General questions (system overview, manufacturing, tasks etc.)

  • ECE stuff/electrical hardware theory

  • Walking

  • Sitting

  • Breathing

  • Other human stuff

Skills to Thrive on the Subteam

  • Eagerness to learn

  • Willingness to learn/being persistent → hardware is a learning curve but overcoming it is rewarding

  • Time management - working on a design team and school is always a balancing act

  • Interest in electrical systems and manufacturing
